Peter Jackson's next movie (to direct), straight from the source, is THE LOVELY BONES with no plans to helm a DAM BUSTERS remake. Consider this rumor BUSTED!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a fresh rumor to start off the day. The biggie today comes from Mail On Sunday, a UK rag that has a story claiming Peter Jackson is directing a remake of the classic war flick THE DAM BUSTERS based on the real life WW2 bombing raids done, at great cost, by the RAF in WW2. (Thanks to DannyOcean1 for the heads up!)
I've never seen Mail On Sunday pop up in the rumors game before, so I don't know how much credence to put to the rumor, but they have small details right, like the name of Peter Jackson's assistant... If true, what does that mean for THE LOVELY BONES?
There's also the possibility of Jackson filming these bombers for another project. We know he's a WW1 and WW2 buff. I'm pulling for a crazy big budget zombie war/gore (wgore?) flick. That might be a fool's dream, but I'm happy to be that fool.
I have an inquiry out to the Jackson camp about this rumor. I'll see if I can't get the official word on this flick for ya'. Stay tuned!
