DINOSAURS!!!

I had two separate people report about this radio show, so D.B. SWEENEY was indeed on it, and did talk about the following. This spy will be known as the Dyslexic Dinosaur!!! I don't have the utmost confidence in the story as D.B. related it, but maybe it could work, the effects are supposed to be stunning, but generally it takes more than that. And this was the first I heard of character voices!!!

I was listening to the Westwood One radio show "Loveline" last night, and the guest on the show was actor D. B. Sweeney (C:16: FBI, Strange Luck, Fire in the Sky). A caller asked him if he was going to be in any upcoming movies, and he spilled the beans about Dinosaurs, the Disney animated feature he had the starring role in. He rattled off the names of some of the other voice actors, but the only two I remember now were Kiefer Sutherland and Julianna Margulies (ER).

D.B. Sweeney said the dinosaurs in the movie would be CG, while the environments would be filmed on location in various settings, like the jungles of Kauai. The film wouldn't be as scary as Jurassic Park (he kept comparing it more to Toy Story), but it would feature as a major plot point the asteroid impact that wiped out the dinosaurs. Sweeney's character sounds pretty strange -- he said he played a dinosaur who had been raised by lemurs who becomes a sort of saurian Moses and leads the lemurs to safety (and the promised land?) after the asteroid ends the age when his own kind ruled the earth.

The computer animation has been roughed in already, and Sweeney said he had almost finished recording his lines, but it will be a year and a half to two years before the film is finished and released. he was very, very excited about the film.

That's all I can remember from what he said...
