Well, this took me by surprise a bit. For a while now, starting with this report, we’ve been talking about A DAY WITH WILBUR ROBINSON, an animated SF comedy that the studio’s been developing.

Everything I’ve seen so far has been interesting, and I’ve been genuinely looking forward to the film. Now, today, out of the blue, look what shows up in the inbox:

So it looks like they’ve changed the name of the movie, and like it’s starting to come together. I hear John Lasseter has been working closely with the crew on this film and on AMERICAN DOG, making sure that these movies are part of a new era in Disney Feature Animation. I would love to see the company re-establish itself as the single greatest animation unit working, and these first few cross-over films from one regime to the other are all going to be interesting test cases.
