Warners and The Weinsteins have T-U-R-T-L-E Power!!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. My childhood geekiness is bubbling up something fierce right now. I grew up with the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES cartoons and movies. I even took Tae Kwon Do at Ernie Reyes' West Coast Tae Kwon Do in my younger days because his son, Ernie Reyes Jr., did some fight work on the first NINJA TURTLES movie (I think he was Donatello's fighting double). I hadn't seen him in RED SONJA at that point and Reyes Jr. ended up playing the pizza boy in NINJA TURTLES 2.

So, I'm keen on seein' this flick. My Ninja Turtles geek-out has no limit... I even saw the Turtles live in concert (The Comin' Out of Their Shell Tour). Beat that!

So, it seems that the long talked about CG NINJA TURTLES flick has nailed a pair of distributors. Warner Bros has it overseas and The Weinsteins are releasing it domestically, with a release date of March 30, 2007.

The flick is directed by Kevin Munroe from his own script, which was made under the watchful eye of original NINJA TURTLES co-creator Peter Laird. We've never really seen any straight adaptation of Eastman and Laird's original Turtles comics. It looks like that'll change by next March. Good news, Turtle fans!
