Rest In Peace Akira Ifukube, Japanese composer and 'voice' of GODZILLA

Hey guys. Quint here with some sad news for fans of great film music, specifically fans of the big green lizard that likes to stomp on cities. Akira Ifukube's score for 1954's GODZILLA was not only perfect for the film, but instantly became an iconic piece of music. His work there and on the subsequent Godzilla films stands shoulder to shoulder with the best film music ever created.

Mr. Ifukube also scored many of the ZATOICHI films. My thoughts are with his family, friends and fans.

Hey AICN, RyougaSaotome here with some very very sad news. The voice of Godzilla, and the heralded Japanese composer Akira Ifukube, passed on at age 91. He was the man who gave strength and darkness to one of the greatest cinema icons in history, and his death signals the end to an era of incredible men; Tomoyuki Tanaka, Ishiro Honda, Tsurubaya, and now Ifukube.

Rest in piece sir, you deserve it.

-RyougaSaotome, Out.
