Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a bit of news regarding Noah Baumbach's new film. THE SQUID AND THE WHALE was one of my favorite films last year, so any news on him making a new movie is good news for me. He's got Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Jason Leigh playing sisters in a "multi-generational story that takes place over a weekend." That doesn't sound exciting at all, but knowing that Baumbach is writing and directing (for Paramount, by the way) makes all the difference in the world. That's like saying The Coen Bros are making a movie about bowling or about kidnapping rednecks. Although he's not as accomplished as the Coens by any means, Baumbach's voice is one of the most interesting new voices in filmmaking.
