Well when I (Father Geek) awoke today this note appeared in our box and I've decided to pass it on to you loyal readers. Azrael spotted Scorsese filming in his front yard (an alley way) last night and hasthis to say about the experience.
I thought I'd put in more than two cents on Scorsese and hit current work.
As luck would have it last night, I walked out the door of my ramshackle apartment, neatly stacked atop a Go-Go bar in Hell's Kitchen. Lighting up a cigarette and nodding off fourteen-year-old prostitues, I notice something. Light. Too much damn light.
Duh. Floods...Crane floods and a pair of flashing ambulances parked on the corner covered in ant-like things that I guess could be people. Walkie-Talkie madness, man!
And then the sighting, Scor-the man-sese. He's talking to a guy the passenger side of the ambulance, doing that Italian hands-moving-while-I'm-making-a-point thing [which I know all too wel] - It's goodman, he looks tired. They've done this ambulance pulling up to the corner shot for about seven takes now and it's getting old.
Accosted! The lowest rung on the film food ladder steps into my personal space and informs me that I can watch from around the corner. Film geek smile, keys in hand, I point to the door right behind me. He gives me that -- son of a -- well, you know the look.
So, to make a long story short, Scorsese is still rolling up in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan. He will be on the corner of 44th and 8th ave. -- look for a cheap bar/diner called Smith's -- it's got an ugly green banner -- and if you can't find that -- look for The Playpen -- one of NYC's premiere strip clubs ;)
P.S. -- fellow film geeks, they only shoot post-sunset, so camp out, grab a beer and watch the show -- I'll be there.
Azrael
