1st New Luthor Since 12/8!! 1st New Cohen Since 12/15!! And Hercules Loves The 1st New GEEK Since July!!

I am – Hercules!!

SMALLVILLE. Loved last month’s “Lex-Mas” - or at least the Lex part of it. (The bits with Clark cheering up boozy suicidal Santa? Stupid piled on stupid.) Tonight’s episode will see Lex’s opponent in the state-senate race, Jonathan Kent, pummeled then targeted for assassination. If Lex – now believing himself incapable of ever finding true happiness - is really behind these revolting acts, tonight’s will be the coolest “Smallville” yet broadcast. But what’ll you bet it’ll just be a colossal mix-up and Lex will turn out to be completely innocent?

THE OC. The best news for “OC” fans is they’ll no longer have to give up “Smallville” (or, eventually, “Survivor” or “Alias”) because the show has moved to 9 p.m. The cool thing about this episode is Marissa’s pre-teen sister from the show’s first season, assayed by former child model Willa Holland, is now 14 and back from boarding school to show everybody how she’s grown.

BEAUTY & THE GEEK 2. The geeks, as promised, are indeed less physically attractive this season, and the girls are arguably even slower-witted, and all 16 contestants are adorable. The Asian feller is a living marvel. He can solve a severely scrambled-up Rubik’s cube blindfolded. All he has to do is glace at the cube, mouth a few numbers (something like "3X2(9YZ)4A"), and he can sort it out behind his back in a matter of seconds. The funny part is, he’s always carrying around a fucking Rubik’s cube! (If I had a similar faculty, I’m not certain I wouldn’t do the same thing.) The guy with the muttonchops is a perfect cross of Napoleon Dynamite and Butt-Head. I know I love this show because, before I realized the second episode was also on the screener, I had grown terribly antsy about the first-episode cliffhanger.

“Smallville” 8 p.m. Thursday. The WB.
“The OC” 9 p.m. Thursday. Fox.
“Beauty & The Geek” 9 p.m. Thursday. The WB.
