Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a tantalizing tidbit that was dropped by director Walter Salles (MOTORCYCLE DIARIES) in an interview he did with a Brazilian newspaper regarding his next project, an adaptation of Jack Kerouac's ON THE ROAD. Keep in mind, this is a maybe as of now, not a definite, but he appears to really like the idea of shooting ON THE ROAD in black and white. Here's the scoop courtesy of "Galofoda"!
Dear Harry or Quint,
It's the first time I write you from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, hometown of Sepultura, one of the greatest metal bands of all time. Yesterday, our local newspaper "Estado de Minas" ran an interview with Walter Salles Jr., the director of the awesome Motorcycle Diaries and the not so good (I haven' seen it, but that's what everybody says) Dark Water. He is releasing an extended version DVD of one of his first movies called "Terra Estrangeira" (Foreign Land) which is a great movie (some of my buddies say it's much much better than the Diaries). This movie is enterely shot in black and white and that's where the cool stuff comes in. Walter said he liked so much the final result of that movie that he might film his next project, which, as everyone knows, is the adaptation of the book ON THE ROAD, also in black and white.
ON THE ROAD, FILMED BY WALTER SALLES JR. IN BLACK AND WHITE!!!!!!!!!!! That´s cool news for me.
If you use this, call me Galofoda.
