Ahoy, squirts! Quint here... I've spent the day trying to get all my ducks in a row for a jaunt to New York City starting Friday mo'ning. I have tons of stuff still to do, but I figured you folks wanted your news, so I got a few stories to run by you tonight. This one caught my eye from today's trade breaks. Hollywood Reporter has a story on a flick called LIBERTY that Chris Moore is producing for Touchstone Pictures. The focus is on a group of American survivors after an electromagnetic pulse disables the infrastructure of the country. They must use technology from the 1940s and 1950s to defend America against a foreign invasion. The film is being directed by cinematographer Ericson Core (PAYBACK, 187) with a screenplay by Producer turn writer Sean Bailey.
I, for one, really dig that concept... I love the idea of repelling invaders using old weaponry. Hopefully we'll get a kick-ass different kind of war movie out of this flick. Can't wait to hear more about it and find out a little about the cast.
