Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with some exciting news for a whole lot of ya' out there. Paul Feig, creator of fan favorite FREAKS & GEEKS is set to polish and direct the script UNACCOMPANIED MINORS for Warner Bros. I have to be honest and own up to the rather sad fact that I've never seen one episode of FREAKS & GEEKS. I know, I know... I'm just not a big TV person, but I've heard nothing but raves for FREAKS & GEEKS, so I'm sure I'll take a look at the DVDs sometime.
Anyway, the enthusiasm for the show has actually got me very interested in seeing what Feig brings to the silver screen. This movie is based on a true life story of a girl who was snowed into Chicago's O'Hare Airport (a place of anger for me... O'Hare fucked me over last summer when I was coming back from Jawsfest) the day after Christmas. She ends up hanging out with other children who spend the holidays flying from one divorced parent to the other. They bond and the whole thing is described as THE BREAKFAST CLUB at an airport.
I have little to no exposure to Feig's work, but if he's as smart a writer as his fans claim this could be a damn good movie. We don't really have a BREAKFAST CLUB type genre anymore. Will Feig become our new John Hughes? What say you folks?
