Is the silver screen getting an old fashioned CREATURE FEATURE again?

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with some news on a new flick by writers Jason Oremland and Greg Erb called CREATURE FEATURE, which sounds like a Famous Monsters-inspired throw back. The main character is a 13 year old named Kevin Ackerman (hence the belief that Famous Monsters had an impact in the idea) who makes monster movies with his neighborhood friends. He finds and uses an old camera and after that the monsters he creates for these movies become real. They're calling this "light horror" so I'd say this'll be more MONSTER SQUAD and less MATINEE. Gold Circle films put up the money and the script is being fleshed out right now. This could be something really great if they don't shy away from the horror. That's why I love MONSTER SQUAD and SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES so much. They really are quite horrific, but still in the realm of kid entertainment. What do you folks think?
