I am – Hercules!!
The oversized print edition of this week’s TV Guide tells you that tonight’s edition of “Lost” is new. That Charlie will grow antsy as Locke expresses interest in milfy young Claire.
Lie! Tonight’s “Lost” is a filthy repeat!
So then. The online version of TV Guide reveals that tonight’s episode is a repeat of the 2.2 shark episode – and that it stars Jolene Blalock as “Nikki”!
Half-truth! It is the shark repeat, but Jolene does not appear in that installment. (Blalock will continue to appear in no “Lost” installment until at least 2.11.)
For the curious, the latest flashback breakdown:
2.1 Jack
2.2 Michael
2.3 Locke
2.4 Hurley
2.5 JinSun
2.6 Shannon
2.7 [forbidden]
2.8 Ana Lucia
2.9 Kate
2.10 [forbidden]
Two things I believe we are permitted to reveal about 2.7: 1) It sounds cool. 2) 2.7 differs from every other “Lost” episode in at least one key respect.
2.10 (less unconventional but still verboten for discussion at this time) is slated to air in January.
While we wait for fresh “Lost”? “Veronica Mars” is new tonight and running all new episodes until the end of November. (We learned last week that the last November episode of “Mars” would see the return of Alyson Hannigan as troubled actress Trina Echolls. This despite the fact that Hannigan’s new CBS sitcom, “How I Met Your Mother,” has been picked up for the rest of the season – a pick-up that might preclude such guest appearances - if UPN weren’t a unit of Les Moonves’ new CBS Corp.)
Helpfully for fans of both “Lost” and “Mars”? All UPN affiliates are apparently given the opportunity to repeat each week’s episode of “Mars” on the subsequent weekend. If your UPN affiliate doesn’t offer this TiVo-friendly option? Be certain to scream at its officials until they get with the program.
