Dr. Remulack told me the following, and I trust him. I’m not gonna go into why, I’m just going to say I do. Apparently right now the Effects Crew at ILM are working overtime this month to meat a George Lucas created deadline (of Sept 28) to get as many effects done as possible. Why? Well apparently George is wanting to show Spielberg a copy of the film with a big hunk of effects completed around October 2nd. You hear that Steven, we expect a full report. Hardee har har...

They want to have all effects work done, completely done by April of next year, that’s there target date. Why? Well, they want a month cushion in case there are any problems or additions that need to be made. And we all know how much Lucas likes his additions. Oh, one last thing, and this is probably where I get my chops busted by flamers in TALK BACK, but the dear doctor said to go see A BUG’S LIFE opening weekend (Thanksgiving) cause that’s where ILM is being told they will first screen the preview for Episode One. Personally I was planning on going anyway, cause I enjoyed the film when I saw the incomplete cut a week or so ago. Of course schedules are meant to be broken, and we’ve been promised the trailer by a certain time, with a certain film, so many times it’s not even funny. For me. Well, I’m a firm believer this time, cause well... The spy that talked to Lucas coming off that Cruise ship said, Lucas said (God look at that) it would be in November. The people I know in the ‘product’ side of things tell me to expect theatrical marketing to begin in November. Well, let’s hope. Keep your fingers crossed, just one pair because two pair cancel each other out. I don’t really understand why Lucas would place it there, other than he figures it’s one of the biggest possible cross-section of the marketplace. TOY STORY played across the board, and Lucas does have a history with Pixar. No guarantees... But it’s the latest that I’ve heard.
