If “Weeds” was a new fall show, it would be my favorite new fall show. It is smart and funny and has pithy things to say about the way we think and live. I actually find myself craving new installments. I don’t believe there’s ever been a Showtime series that made me say that before.

Its season finale is colorcast tonight. There’s no word yet on a second season or if Parker finally offers up some “Angels In America”-calibre nudity.

We do know the eldest Botwin kid now knows that his mom does more than run a fakery.
