Well, I've been following JACK FROST for a long long time. I read the script when it was known as FROSTY THE SNOWMAN. I loved that script, it was heart warming and touching.... BUT it's a Warner Brothers film, so by definition it is almost assuredly doomed to mediocrity... right? Well this sneaky bastard says otherwise. It could be that 'sneaky bastard' is a Warner suit in disguise, preying on us like we're some sort of dimwitted obese geeks, while that certainly describes me, I'm sure it doesn't come close to being a blanket description for all of you. So I say we hold on, keep our fingers crossed and hang out for Test Screenings results to come in. To paraphrase the CROW, "Warners can't suck all the time", sometimes they can blow... It does have HENSON involvement so the possibility of magic is there. Let's hope...
Harry:
The word at Warner Brothers is that they finally have a hit on thier hands with JACK FROST starring Michael Keaton, Kelly Preston, & Mark Addy (The cool fat guy from the FULL MONTY, Who by the way recently got over $2 mil to do the sequel to THE FLINTSTONES as FRED). The Studio saw the movie last week and the word is that the highest level suits were moved to tears by an unexpectantly emotional movie (or maybe they were still crying about The Avengers).
They are talking about JACK FROST as a potential franchise and say that it is Michael Keaton's best work since the first Batman or Beatlejuice. Kelly Preston --enough said--if there is a hotter babe in Hollywood, please tell!!! Trevor Rabin (ARMAGEDDON) turned in a great score and the soundtrack is supposed to be sweet too.
The word is that it has the feel of GHOST or ITS A WONDERFUL LIFE and if its true, there will finally be a Christmas movie that we care about (Sorry Tim Allen)....
The trailer is supposed to be coming out soon...
Best,
Ol' Sneaky Bastard
