NBC reports that both Tina Fey and Maya Rudolph will miss a number of episodes of “Saturday Night Live” this autumn to take maternity leaves.
To help fill out the cast, “SNL” has hired the entire Lonely Island troupe. Lonely writer-performer Andy Samberg joins the show’s cast while his fellow Lonely writer-performers, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone, have joined the show’s writing staff.
Also added to the cast is former “Punk’d” field agent Bill Hader, a veteran of Second City Los Angeles.
“SNL” returns Oct. 1.
