Twitchfilm

Hi, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab...

Okay... here’s the first thing that Twitchfilm did that had us all riled up. This is the letter we got over the Geek Wire today:

Hot damn. Don't know if you've heard anything about Sha Po Lang at all but I guarantee you're going to hear a LOT of people buzzing about it over the next few months ... it's a dark crime / martial arts piece from Hong Kong that's premiering at the Toronto Film Festival next month before rolling out across Asia in November.

Why care? Donnie Yen getting in front of the camera and kicking unholy amounts of ass. Sammo Hung doing the same. No wires. No camera tricks. Advance buzz is HUGE .... this could be the film that snaps Hong Kong out of their martial arts slump since Seven Swords is fizzling there. And then there's Wu Jing. This guy is hardly known outside of Asia since he mostly works in Chinese television but he trained under the same master as Jet Li and is way up in the higher echelon of martial arts performers who could actually kick you ass in the real world without breaking a sweat. Apparently this film features a lengthy one on one fight between Wu Jing and Donnie Yen that was neither scripted nor rehearsed ... they just figured they were both highly trained enough that they should be able to avoid seriously hurting each other and they went right at it. He's the guy with the white suit and bleached hair in the trailer ... you'll know him when you see him ...

Todd also posted another story that is a rumor, but a juicy one. Check this out:

This is interesting ... citing France's Premiere Magazine Screen Daily is reporting that Luc Besson secretly shot a new film, titled Angel A, in Paris over the summer. All that's known about it is that it's a romantic comedy shot in black and white and stars Jamel Debbouze and Gilbert Melki. Word is it'll release in December. Luc's playing coy and refusing to comment ...
