Frank Darabont moving on THE MIST'!'

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with something particularly cool for us fans of Stephen King's novella/short story THE MIST. It's been known a long while that Frank Darabont has had the rights to adapt this awesome story of an unnatural mist spreading across a small town and hiding within its haze giant monsters, but now it seems Darabont might finally be getting this flick underway, lensing as early as December '05. This has been one of my most anticipated projects for a very long time and I'm ecstatic that this finally rolling forward! I can't wait to hear the casting as it develops! There's also word from Darabont in the heads up below about his adaptation of Robert McCammon's MINE. Enjoy!

Thought that you folks might be at least slightly interested in hearing this (estatic....maybe, orgasmic?....probably). But mention was made concerning Frank Darabont looking to start filming on Stephen King's novella "The Mist" as early as December of this year. The story was published in his collection of stories entitled "Skeleton Crew" in 1986.

It was confirmed here:

because Darabont also has a film called "MINE", based on McCammon's literary work, that was pushed back until next year, which ultimately made "The Mist" possible this soon.

Also see the same note here on a Stephen King dedication site:

Thanks,

Tim
