It's official! Kidman to fight off some nasty ETs and their nasty germs in INVASION!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. There have been rumblings around the net about this announcment over the last day or two, but now it's officially official, according to both Hollywood Reporter and Variety. Nicole Kidman will headline INVASION. What's kinda new is that this has been touted as yet another remake of INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS and did, indeed, start off life as a project as such.

However it seems that newbie screenwriter David Kajganich turned in what the studio thinks is a "fresher take." I'm all for more originality. Go new stuff! I was actually thinking about this exact premise after WAR OF THE WORLDS... If the Aliens were affected by our germs would they not have brought their own and would those germies not have been bad for us? Kinda like small pox blankets from across the galaxy?

This could be a really cool flick... And I happened to love both the original Kevin McCarthy INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS and the '70s remake with Donald Sutherland and Spock... So, I wasn't automatically against another remake. All the better if it's exploring something kinda new.
