Ahoy, squirts! Quint here... now, I wasn't really considering posting anything about this trailer, which just popped up at Apple.com, until I saw something... Something that made me go... whaaa?
Sure, this looks like a typical big budget, big studio romantic outing... I like Aniston and teaming her with Shirley MacClaine, Kevin Costner, Mena Suvari and Mark Ruffalo in a Rob Reiner comedy might make for some good cookie-cutter PG-13 comedy... But watch this trailer and see if you can see what I saw... Look right after Mena Suvari gets her name check in towards the end of the trailer... just before "the hug scene." There's a house... and I swear to god that it's the Freddy Kruger house. There's just something cosmically right about a studio rom-com being set in Nancy's house from NIGHTMARE, one of the most recognizable (to horror geeks, anyway) houses in recent movie history. Maybe I'm totally wrong, but it made me smile and actually want to see the movie a little bit. Is that bad?
