HOSTEL screens: '... puss and vomit and blood and bubblegum flying EVERYWHERE!'

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a very early look at HOSTEL, Eli Roth's follow-up to CABIN FEVER. This flick promises to lead us in a new direction and I have my fingers crossed, as someone who geniunely loved CABIN FEVER, that Roth knocks this one out of the park. The below review is pretty barebones... more of a reporting of the feeling of the screening and how the movie played... It's completely spoiler-free, but it has me excited. I've gotten other, unconfirmed, reports from the screening, but none of those have anything to do with the movie, either. Rather, they focus on Roth's subtle sexual activities as the lights went down... fingers, mouths, zippers, Red Vines, Icees and nacho cheese was, reportedly, involved... no wonder the audience was howling. Anyway, enjoy the mini-review! Here's hoping we see this version on the big screen and not have to settle for the real version being on DVD!

Hey Harry,

I'm a lucky guy. I just saw a cut of Eli Roth's new flick HOSTEL that will probably neeeeeeever be screened in a wide theatrical release. The good news is that the film has some very strong through lines so no matter how shaved down the intense stuff gets, it will still probably be an awesome film. And it was a fucking romp let me tell you. The audience was howling.

I got the flyer for the screening and it said "Quentin Tarantino Presents HOSTEL" The new film by Eli Roth. What they should do here is keep Quentin's blessing in the title and piss in the MPAA's face. Release the film as is, even if it gets an NC17 rating but do it on an opportune weekend where the competition is very low. Then nerds and perverts and amputee fetishists all over the globe could join hands and sing.

The film goes from very fun and sexy, to EXTREMELY violent and suspenseful, wrapping up with some of the best, most gratifying moments of revenge. At first I thought that the first half of the film was dragging, but after seeing the whole film, I realize that those slow repetitious, sinister moments in the earlier scenes set me up for the paydirt in the third act. There is pus and vomit and blood and bubblegum flying EVERYWHERE!

Killer flick.

The call me CHUCK KNUCKLES.
