The Lord of the Storm has reported in the past, and this time he (or since he's a god should it be 'HE'?) saw LOVE STINKS. Remember this is a test screening so the film might be loosely put together, it may have a temp track ... ie.. it might not be anything near the final print, so stay tuned...
Hey Harry! This is the Lord of the Storm, reporting live from the City of Lost Angels.
It's been a while since my last report because I've been trying to chase down Moriarity to do a scheme together, all with Nick Fury on my tail. Nevertheless, I snuck past the NRG goons Tuesday night and caught a "work print" screening of Love Stinks.
It was over at the Harmony Gold building (makers of Robotech, yay!) on Sunset. The line was around the corner, and I was afraid that the figure of a thunder god may arouse some suspicions, so I shapeshifted myself into a teenaged girl in a black skirt, braids, and white shoes -- no one suspected anything. I hypnotized a family into believing I was with them and in we went.
Love Stinks is mostly told in flashback with shades of War of the Roses, a relationship from hell. I kept an NRG invite, lemme quote it (because I think I see that helicarrier, so my time is limited):
"Love Stinks is the story of Seth ("3rd Rock From The Sun's" French Stewart), a successful television producer wo (sic) thinks he has fallen in love with Chelsea, the woman of his dreams. Chelsea (Bridgette Wilson from The Real Blonde and Mortal Combat) has found the amn of her dreams too and she will stop at nothing to make sure that they walk down the aisle together. Set against the backdrop of the world of sitcom television, Love Stinks also stars MTV's Bill Bellamy (How To Be A Player)and supermodel Tyra Banks ..."
Yadda yadda producer director whatever.
It was so very fun. I've just recently seen Mary and this was in the same funniness zip code -- over the top comedic situations, wild sex (limited views, sorry gang), and a very bitter twist for all of us (like yours truly) who have been burned by that cherubic little bastard with the bow and arrow. A whole plot breakdown would allow those nice gun wielding, blue suited boys time to break into this downtown LA highrise I'm holed up in, but suffice it to say the last twist of plot is miraculously funny. Dance, French, dance!
On the "cool" scheme, I'm gonna need this one for the personal LOTS video collection the same way I tape ally mcbeal and keep war of the roses handy. I also plan to take someone who's made me suffer. Muahahahahahaha!
Well, the C4 is just blowing the first security locks, so I'm off. Have fun at your convention, Harry, and keep up the fine work.
This is the Lord of the Storm, signing off from the city of Lost Angels.
