Hey folks, Harry here - OneManGang has some lite tidbits from Con that he hadn't seen discussed anywhere. Here ya go...
Just thought I'd pass along some news not yet posted:
1. Spawn the animated movie will pick up were the HBO series left off seven years later. There will be no clown. The have a more powerful adversary (according to the panel). Sam and Twitch will return. They are also talking to HBO about possibly bringing back the show. And David Keith absolutely will return as the voice of Spawn
2. Toy Biz announced that as the last two editions in the Marvel Legends series did, Series 11 will also be without a base but will continue with the inclusion of separate body parts. This time building a giant Apocalypse action figure, which by the way, looked a lot bigger than Galaticus, and The Sentinel.
3. When asked where Marvel was planning to start now that they will be making their own films, Avi Arad didn't confirm anything but seemed pretty excited about having Captain America and Black Panther as starting projects.
4. John Kricafalusi was very funny during the Ren & Stimpy panel. The uncut Ren & Stimpy cartoons shown were based more on heterosexual raunchy humor than homosexual raunchy humor.
5. Bruce Campbell stole the show (what else is new?) during the Sky High panel. His scene with the students in which their powers are displayed for the purpose of rating them as hero's or sidekicks was hilarious.
6. Kevin Smith was a fucken riot. That man sure knows how to bag on people. Cruel and rude. But hey, the man talks a lot of shit about himself too so you can't knock him for his comments.
7. Rachel Weisz, Charlize Theron, and Eva Mendes look a whole lot better in person then they do on film. What beautiful goddesses.
8. So Much MILF..So Much MILF... The Con is such a MILF magnet. And it seemed that the older ones were a whole lot better than the younger ones.
9. The Adult Swim panel was great. The creative teams behind Robot Chicken, Tom Goes to the Mayor, and Aqua Teen Hunger Force were great. The hour was hilarious with clips of the new seasons from each show plus new shows premiering later this year. Moral Oral was the best of the new shows for me. It's a total knock (with the same stop-motion animation) on the old Davy & Goliath cartoons of the late 70's early 80's (but there was no dog) with today's low-brow humor. Tops. And also announced for next year: Aqua Teen Hunger Force The Movie!
Well I hope this was informative. The show was great. My calves are probably two inches thicker. Now I must rest. Til next time.
