Well we've seen SIMON BIRCH and we know how that translated, it turned into a pretty damn good movie that was nothing like the book, and here we have another, one that Irving's just a bit more into... perhaps it can be brilliant, let's find out more on this one folks, whaddaya say?
Irving himself has now confirmed, there is a film of The Cider House Rules in production - and part of it is being filmed here in town - in Western Massachusetts. Rumor has it that the filming in town will be done at the retired Mental Health hospital on the outskirts of town (great for an orphanage??). This is the same building that Neil Jordan used last year for In Dreams. The principal photography for this film will be done throughout MA, NH and ME until December. Oh, and there are faint whisperings of Leo DiCaprio being involved in the project. I've seen no confirmation for this.
