Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a statement from Jason Connery's agent, refuting the rumor that I ran a couple weeks ago about the Son of Bond's appearance in a direct to video sequel to the greatly entertaining LAKE PLACID. I ran it as a rumor and it turned out to be just that. So, for the handful of people out there that wanted to be kept up to date on this project you have the below statement:
Official statement from Jason Connery:
Recently a number of Internet sites have reported that actor / director Jason Connery is starring in “Lake Placid 2,” the sequel to the 1999 comic-thriller. The reports are false and it is unclear where the information originated. Jason Connery is not now, nor has he ever been involved with the production of “Lake Placid 2.”
The actor has recently completed filming three independent films – “Far Side of Jericho,” “Hoboken Hollow,” and “Night Skies” and later this year he will direct his first feature entitled “Bloodline” with producer Paul Heller (“My Left Foot.”)
Additionally, Connery has formed a production company in partnership with his manager, Ricki Maslar. The soon-to-be-announced company currently has several projects in development.
