Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with some sad news. Lane Smith died yesterday. Lane Smith was one of those familiar faces, one of those guys that'd pop up in a film that'd have you go, "Hey, it's that guy..." He's probably most well known as Perry White on LOIS AND CLARK, but as a young man his double threat of SON IN LAW (which I still hold as being a funny movie, even if Pauly Shore is in it) and THE MIGHTY DUCKS cemented him as a recognizable character actor in my mind. Hell, he was in RED DAWN! We've gotten a lot of email from fans of his asking for an Obit to run on the site, including the one below. My thoughts are with his friends, family and fans.
Lane Smith passed away and I have not seen anything on your site about it. He was a great actor who brought a lot to a lot of films. If I missed it then sorry, if not then please just put something up. A lot of people would not recognize his name but his face has been part of film and TV for us for a long time. I was a huge fan of Lois and Clark and loved to see him play Perry White and even acting against Pauly Shore in Son in Law (so I lose clout for the Son in Law bit but whatever). But regardless thanks for the great work on the site.
