KONG's face and a moving Rex... Oh my! Plus Weta Digi NOT doing Korean monster movie THE HOST!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a couple items to help you bide your time until that KONG trailer on WAR OF THE WORLDS. These have been floating around a bit, but now that I've got them together to make a proper presentation I give you a moving Rex and the Eighth Wonder of the World!

Image Removed At Request of TOPPS!!!

Pretty, ain't he? My understanding is PJ and crew are still perfecting Kong's appearance, but you get the overall feel of him in that above card... I love, love, love it. This poor bastard's been through hell. He's scarred, his jaw is messed up (love the tooth)... If he works even half as good as the animatics I saw while in New Zealand then we're in for a classic this December. People will be bawling their eyes out. I also have a moving dino for you, but you'll have to read through the below to get to it! Enjoy!

You've probably seen these already, but thought I'd make sure. Here is Kong's face on a Topps trading card and an animated gif of the V Rex (the 'evolved' Skull Island form of T Rex).

Apparently that Topps card is the real deal, that's Derek the Deciever's vision of the Eighth Wonder of the World, at least according to an 'inside source' on KongIsKing's message board. It was revealed this week that Topps had won the license to make trading cards for the film and this image was provided by Topps to hearald the license being won.

The walkcycle gif of the V Rex is similar to one in a recent production diary, but appears to be a different perspective. Personally, I love it, if the recent game images are any indication, the adult V Rex is much larger than your typical *yawn* Tyrannosaurus. Kong has a serious fight ahead of him, especially if he's fighting, two or three of them!!

Enjoy,

Wetasaurus

You may also remember that I posted a story a couple days ago about Weta Digital doing the CG for the Korean horror film THE HOST with a link to a really nifty pic. I've been contacted by official peoples who tell me that Weta Digital did indeed bid on the project, but then had to pull out in order to devote their energies to bringing the big Ape to life in time for Christmas. Bummer, but now you know... and knowing is half the battle!
