Hey folks, Harry here... EEEk... Eli is going to offer me up as the sacrificial rat bastard that gave him the initial inspiration for HOSTEL. Joy. Folks, I just want to say... When you see the film, I was not seeking the experience in the film. But you know how pretty much anything you can think of is on the internet? One night I was essentially thinking of the SICKEST things I could think of - and doing searches to see if they existed. Unfortunately, and this was the subject and tenor of the conversation I had with Eli. My basest Miike / Paul Schraeder thought was attainable online. And when Eli went looking he discovered I was right and the idea horrified him. The concept that the most base desire, most hedonistic wish fulfillment is available online... It's terrifying cause these sites exist for a reason. People use them. And it is that thought, that I found most disturbing. Eli decided to use the premise as the beginning concept for his new film HOSTEL. If he shoots what I read - and if KNB does their best work... then Eli has a chance to really shock the hell out of everyone. But I don't look forward to the questioning I'll be getting from media outlets in regards to this subject matter. Frankly, I find it scary that more people might seek it out. Great material for Sick Horror Cinema - terrible reality we live in.
Hi guys,
Chris Tilly here - online ed of the Time Out film site. Sent you info
about my V for Vendetta set visit the other day, and am just following up
with my Hostel set visit which might be of some interest.
Went out to Prague, saw some amazing things (most of which Eli won't let
me reveal yet), heard how Harry gave Eli a little inspiration for the
project, took some pics and wrote it up for the site.
The story is here: Hostel Set Visit and if you
guys want to use any of it, feel free (though if possible can you put a
link back to the original story somewhere?).
Anyways, keep up the good work and if you are interested in this sort of
thing, will email you any exciting scoops I get in the future.
Hope to hear from you soon, and till then, keep up the good work!
Chris.
