Hey folks, Harry here with the latest from Variety.Com on Wolfgang Peterson's POSEIDON ADVENTURE! And frankly - it's pretty dagburn cool news. First there's Kurt Russell playing an ol fireman/small-time politics man and his daughter... the yummy Emmy Rossum. And then playing the dumped gay man, literally drowning his sorrows, on this ship is Richard Dreyfuss. So we have a Father/Daughter pair - I suppose taking the character place of the girl... and I guess Dreyfuss is playing the "broken heart" that was Red Buttons the first time out. Personally, I love the original film - and honestly - I just don't think it can be done better, no matter the "advancements" of modern film effects. However, since one of the best doomed boat flicks of all time was directed by Wolfgang... I'm curious to give this a look. Nice start at an ensemble cast, can't wait to see the rest.
