Well Agent Kushing here has just one thing wrong in his report from the set, but heck, how's he supposed to know? Right? Geena Davis is playing a live human character, the star... the mouse is played by Stuart Little thanks to Sony Pictures Imageworks and Centropolis. Oh, and the voice is by Michael J Fox, but now let's hear what Agent Kushing saw...
Sorry I haven't written in a while, but I just move to L.A. and I haven't had a computer in about two weeks. Anyway, I was over on the Sony lot the other day and saw the most amazing set I have ever seen. Remember that I also saw the Wild Wild West set and Armageddon sets and reported in on both. The movie I saw being filmed is called, "Stewart Little." It's based on a childrens story about a mouse, only they made the mouse a person and that person is Geena Davis. I think. I asked one of the crew members who the star of the film was and he told me her name so I guess she's the star.
Anyway, the two sets I saw being constructed were of Central Park. One set was a recreation of 5th Ave right by the park entrance. They recreated two blocks on 5th Ave. They had everything from the stone wall that borders the park to the wet, dried up oak leaves that cover the street in the fall. The only thing that set me off was the newstand. I got the feeling that the movie was supposed to take place in the 50's by the old fashioned street lights, but the newstand they recreated had computer magazines. That set was cool. But the next set that I will tell you about was magical.
They recreated the boat house and pond in Central Park. They must have brought in over two hundred different trees and dozens of bushes. They had a huge panoramic picture of the New York skyline that circled around the whole set. They had scuba divers in the water pulling the model boats around to make them look if people were actually sailing them via remote control. They even had a refreshment stand that looked and smelled so real that several extras and myself went up to it and ordered food.
I can't put into words how awesome this was to see. I am from New York as are both of parents and they would've sworn that they were in Central Park. It was that good. As for the movie it sounds dumb. And as for Gina Davis she hasn't been in a good movie in years. But the sets were awesome.
As for some more gossip. One of the executives told me that Mariah Carrey just signed to be in her first film with Sony. I hope it's not the Body Guard part 2.
Sincerely,
Agent Kushing
