Harry here, and I'd just like to say I hope to God this is true, but as of yet there is no confirmation. I'm hoping to speed up either a confirmation or a denial with this posting. Once again, this is strictly a rumor, not a fact, don't treat it as such. If it is true, I'd hope Warners would have the sense to finance it at the top of animated film budgets!!! This could be great if done by these guys!!!
Anton Sirius here - long time poster(?), first time squealer. Just thought you might like to know why there never seems to be plans for a full-bore Batman animated movie. My 'informed sources' tell me that Bruce Timm and Paul Dini have their sights set on bigger fish - namely a big-screen adaptation of Kingdom Come. Yes, that's right, the unbelievably fantastic Alex Ross-pencilled mini-series. The initial character designs are jaw-droppingly good (so I've been told), good enough to make even timid Warner consider pulling the trigger on a Christmas 2000 release date- although 2001 might be more realistic now. They're looking at sales of the World's Finest video to judge how much interest there might be for it. (Not that I'm suggesting anybody buy it for THAT reason.) So, Harry, adding this to the pile now crowned by LoR- how's your millenium shaping up? Mine's looking pretty damn sweet.
