Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a tidbit from Sci-Fi Channel's news arm, Sci Fi Wire, where they dug up some interesting info on V FOR VENDETTA from producer Joel Silver. It's no secret that James McTeigue, former first AD to the Wachowskis, is directing this Alan Moore adaptation, but did you know that the Wachowskis are directing second unit?
Second unit usually picks up small shots... feet running, establishing shots of locations, etc. However that's not always the case. For example, Fran Walsh directed a lot of key moments in the LOTR films, as did producers Rick Porras and Barrie Osborne, including directing Andy Serkis' Gollum mo-cap. I have no idea how much the Wachowskis are going to do on this film, but if their style is being adapted to fit Alan Moore's world, through the lens of James McTeigue... that's good news, to me. What do you folks think?
