Geeks Gone Wild! When Geeks Simply Go Too Far...

Hey folks, Harry here... I try to avoid linking to non-upcoming film related stories online, but this one was irresistable. A group of ROAD WARRIOR geeks decied to stage a recreation of the Tanker sequence from MAD MAX 2 (ROAD WARRIOR) in San Antonio... but instead of recreating it on a race track - or a parking lot - they decided to recreate it out on a for real highway - where "normals" could see it - and the "normals" called the cops and they all got arrested and their film festival marathon got shut down. - Now, I'm generally associated with fun geek recreations and events that I throw in conjunction with the Alamo Drafthouse. But when Tim and I throw these various insane film events - we always seeks to make the public aware of what we're doing, letting the police know (if they could become involved) and just avoiding highspeed mayhem on the public road systems... generally. Heh. Oh - I hope there's video footage of this insanity! Read the story and enjoy...

Harry - Saw this story at: ABCNEWS Story Were you doing a show in San Antonio? Just asking cuz something this crazy, I thought you had to be in on! Humongus

wow - this was a Drafthouse event! LOL! Well, it was one that I never heard a single word about. Which is odd - usually their events are cross-promoted on their site, and I never saw this one. BUMMER! BTW - just talked to Tim League - and he knew nothing about the event - as I suspected. However, we're intrigued and might be throwing one ourselves!

Robogeek just alerted me to this story about it: CLICK HERE!
