Will Toad return in X3' Well, Ray Park thinks so...

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with some interesting talk from Darth Maul himself, Mr. Ray Park, who appeared in beautiful, windy Wellington, New Zealand this last weekend at Armageddon Con. Here's the tip I got about his words on a possible return to the X-MEN franchise:

Hello there Harry.

I'm living in New Zealand at the moment, and yesterday went to the Armageddon convention in Wellington. One of the panel was Maul himself, Ray Park. Top fella, he got all the geeks onstage doing lightsabre and kung fu thwacking and answered questions. Someone asked if he was up for X3 with Matthew Vaughan, and he said he was in negotiations with the producers to reprise the role of Toad, as you never really saw him die in the first movie, (although Halle Berry's excerable "Do you know what happens to a toad when it gets hit by lightning?" quip would kill most peole with auditory functions instantly).

So, how seriously can we take that... I'd just say to keep in mind that most actors are the last to know about what's really going on with big projects like these. If they are talking about bringing back Toad, then I just hope that Matthew Vaughn takes more advantage of Park's physical skills than Singer did in the original X-MEN film. Toad felt bulky and way too wire-fu-y in the first film and I know Park could do some great work if freed from wardrobe and wires... Well, by freed from wardrobe, I mean the layers he was wearing in X1, not that he'd be jumping around with his Toad dork flapping about. You know what I mean.

Anyway, just the fact that they're talking about bringing in all these minor villains... from Juggernaut to Toad... I wonder what Vaughn has up his sleeve. I can't wait to find out!
