Hey folks, Harry here with the latest news on the young Hannibal Lecter movie. Personally, I'm pretty cold to the idea, at least until I read Harris' book that it is apparently based upon. I think Thomas Harris has created one of the great anti-heroes of the 20th Century - right there with Mr Ripley - and as the character crosses into the 21st century of fiction - I'm hoping it is all it should be. Here's a gathering of the latest. I'd love to give this script a read.
Harry, thanks for posting my Sin City review...Don't know if you've seen
this, but it's the first I've heard this new Lector story, "Behind the
Mask." Here's what I found on MSN:
Variety reports Chinese icon Gong Li ("Raise the Red Lantern") will play
the role of Lady Murasaki, the Japanese woman who teaches cultural
sophistication to a young Hannibal Lecter in "Behind the Mask." "Mask"
will be directed by Peter Webber ("Girl with a Pearl Earring") and is
the fifth installment of the Lecter series from author Thomas Harris. It
will begin production this September in Prague.
