Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with the latest tidbit about SUPERMAN RETURNS. Now, we've all seen those pics of the crashed ship on the Kent farm and we've all assumed it was baby Kal-El's ship because it is designed to look a whole lot like the one in the original... Well, Singer might have something different up his sleeve... Read below for the full details and if you click on the link at the very bottom you can even see a video capture of this segment courtesy of the folks at Superman Home Page! Enjoy!

Hi Harry,

The Australian morning talk television show, Sunrise, showed an "exclusive" visit to the set of Superman, being filmed in Australia. The reporter spoke director Bryan Singer, who revealed some interesting details about the plot of Superman, as well as giving the reporter a tour of the set. Singer likened the shoot as "driving out to the country and shooting an independent film in someone's farm". Singer talked about why he cast an unknown for the part of Superman.

What we saw was:

- The Kent farm (which was built in Sydney and transported to the location. They completely created the farm from scratch which included growing the crops)

- A closely guarded contraption (which looked like 4 very large black spikes appearing out of the ground)

This is what Singer had to say about the mysterious prop:

Bryan Singer: "That is ah, that is also something we built in Sydney and shipped out"

Reporter: "You can't say what it is?"

Bryan Singer: "I'm not supposed to say, I try not to say, it's basically a crashed space vehicle. It is not his childhood crashed space vehicle. It is his adult crashed space vehicle. He's been gone, he has been off the world for a while, and his return, is ah, is um, is his first stop to the farm."

The reporter speculated that Superman feels like he has wronged the world and has exiled himself and then returns to earth when he is needed. It was a brief report but Singer came across as being a really approachable guy and was willing to give out some little secrets.

Hope you can use this, if you do call me Shimmer.
