Report on THE PRINCE OF EGYPT Walmart Screening

Word has it that there were 6 separate screens showing Prince Of Egypt in Dallas this past weekend. This is Spielberg's favorite town to test screen in. Dagdumit, when is that dang bullet train gonna be built between Austin and Dallas. Thirty minutes and BAM, I'm there. Surely they wouldn't notice me, I'm inconspicuous (as well as a bad speller). Here's the report on how the screening went. I'd love to hear from some of you other folks that saw this screening/screenings.

I have some serious COOLNESS here...

Well I live up here in Dallas and was going to the AMC Grand 24 movie theater today. I went and saw Blade(which kicked ass) and then as I am leaving I noticed that they had half of the theater closed off due to a Private Dreamworks Screening... So being the movie geek I am, I investigate. I pass myself off as one of the screeners and get in. To my surprise I was now watching PRINCE OF EGYPT in its entirity.

The Non spoiler news first...

The animation and effects were just awesome and sometimes were just so realistic, the sound was intense and the music was extraordinary...watch out disney during oscar time because DreamWorks is going to sweep them. Basically the movie is based on the biblical story of moses from the Book Of Exodus...An Animated Ten Commandments. Most everyone knows the story...but some scenes with intense visual animation were when moses is talking to god at the burning bush, and the scene where moses through the power of god as the oceans rise...it was just stunning it looked so real.

There are very many familiar voices from Val Kilmer, Sandra Bullock, and Jeff Goldblum among others that I recognized, but there were no credits. The audience was going crazy at the end...they LOVED it, as did I. Turns out that this was a screening for Wal-Mart which is having a big promo for the movie near Christmas when the movie comes out.

There were Wal-Mart ppl from all over the whole country...this theater is huge, it has 24 theaters and half of them were devoted to this screening and each theater holds about a 1000+.
