Eli Roth's HOSTEL nabs a super cool cameo!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a little info on Eli Roth's newest flick, a small, intimate horror flick called HOSTEL about doomed backpackers in Europe. It's been announced recently that Sony Screen Gems has picked up the film for theatrical distribution. Eli also recently sent out a letter to all the webmasters giving a little more detail on the film:

All I can say for now is that I am 2 weeks away from principal photography, and I wasn't going to say a word until the cameras were rolling, because I'm terribly superstitious and worry that an earthquake will hit or something. HOSTEL is going to be very, very different from CABIN FEVER in tone. This is not a horror comedy. This is a violent, scary film that will be much closer in tone to a film like Miike's AUDITION or Hooper's TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE. I am producing the film with Mike Fleiss (who produced the CHAINSAW remake with Michael Bay) and his partner Chris Briggs, and my Raw Nerve partners Scott Spiegel and Boaz Yakin will Executive Produce. I am extremely lucky that Screen Gems came in and picked the film up for distribution already, so I can make it independently and still have a worldwide theatrical release.

I'm very excited to see Eli Roth take on a serious horror flick. We need more straight up horror flicks...

Anyway, I got this scoop from a source deep inside Raw Nerve. Today they got the confirmation that noneother than Takashi Miike himself will have a cameo in HOSTEL. I can only hope that Roth gives him a cameo that's disgusting, gory or involving sticky white love piss, as that seems to be a favorite Miike bodily fluid. John Woo has his doves, Takashi Miike has his semen. Go figure.

I'm gonna try to sweet talk Raw Nerve into letting me on to this set. If that happens, I'll be sure to let you know what this movie is shaping up to be like.
