Some details about THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE remake set!

Hey folks, Harry here... I love the original POSEIDON ADVENTURE - and when Wolfgang Petersen announced he was producing a remake and hiring Mark Protosevich to write it on up, I got curious. You see, personally - I don't think the original can be improved upon. Sure, the wave can be done better - but who is gonna be a better fire & brimstone preacher? I mean - here in Austin, this is one of those films that hits theaters a couple a times a year on the big screen. Word I've heard is that Wolfgang has gone gaga for the project and plans on helming it himself... but we'll see. As of now, I haven't heard any casting, they were still putting the final touches on the script - while getting everything set for production. With this word regarding the sets I s'pose we should be hearing attachments pretty soon, sounds like Warners is spending plenty of dough on the sets!

Harry,

I work for Warner Bros. I was looking through some of the stages under construction yesterday and I found out that the WB is doing the remake of "The Poseidon Adventure." Not that I don't think that you knew this. I was just writing to tell you how cool one of the stages looks. The building of largest part of the boat is being built on Stage 16 on the WB lot.

This is the famous stage where they filmed all of the storm scenes on "The Perfect Storm." The Stage is one of if not the largest one of its kind in the world. It has a huge water tank that goes about 40 ft. below the main floor of the stage where tons of water can be pumped into it. (I'm sorry I don't know how much water exactly.) It is the main stage with a big WB sign on the side of it that you see in the Warner Title at the beginning of any WB film. The stage is huge! They are building a piece of the boat that is four stories high and two of the stories go down into the floor of the stage. I'm guessing that they will be submerged at some point.

My main reason for writing is basically to ask if you have heard of who they are thinking of casting or who is directing. I went to the IMDB and found nothing on this information. Maybe you could enlighten us. Keep me posted and I love the website.
