Ok, this is friggin cool. I want to see this trailer sooooooooooo bad it hurts. After almost 2 years what is going to be the first image we get from that "insane man in the editing lab" as Hallenbeck calls him. What is Kubrick's first impression going to be? What does he want us to know?
A few minutes ago I found out. It came from the UK, and via the telephone. The new spy, named The Informer, validated his placement in the world of English filmmaking and then described to me the latest. Apparently Warner Brothers just screened Kubrick's trailer for Warner hierarchy. They've been kept in the dark for quite some time now. Kubrick took their money and shot for nearly two years, what did they see?
The trailer is a teaser in every sense of the word. It's 30 seconds long, and is a still image of Nicole Kidman's breasts. Across the first nipple is Nicole Kidman's name, then across the second nipple is Tom Cruise's name. Then the screen says (after 30 seconds) EYES WIDE SHUT.
GAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD I want to see that trailer with a packed audience. I want to see it with Hallenbeck beside me, to watch him absolutely go through the roof screaming GENIUS! Yeah, here's a friggin trailer for Entertainment Tonight! Hahahahahahaha!!!! Brilliant. I can't wait. Counting the seconds till Warners has the ball sack to release it!
