Alvin set to give Peter Parker another peck of pickled peppers!

Hey folks, Harry here... Variety is reporting that Alvin Sargent is signed on to write not only SPIDER-MAN 3, but with an option to write SPIDER-MAN 4. Which is contrary to news earlier last year that Sony planned to only make 3 of these films. So - if the third is the success we all know Raimi and crew will make it, then it'll just be about Sony pushing enough million dollar bills in front of talent to get them all aboard.

As for Alvin Sargent - people tend to go ga-ga over PAPER MOON and ORDINARY PEOPLE, but for me... my favorite Alvin Sargent scripted film was GAMBIT (1966). Stunningly brilliant - and it's all based on that brilliant script of his. You must check it out sometime, you'll fall in love. Tarantino showed it at one of his QT fests and it blew the roof off the Alamo Drafthouse!
