Instead, this is a soft teaser. One where they're selling the idea of the era... a period in American history where the world was unemployed and it was among the dark times in American history. The middle of the country dried up and blew away. America's industry was nearly destroyed. Millions were unemployed.. Essentially - it's the same pitch as we had last year for SEA BISCUIT, only this time... the thing that captured the imagination wasn't some inadequate horsey, but Jim Braddock... the CINDERELLA MAN. This was a brutal period in fight history. Before high rise hair and ridiculous promoters. Before ear gnawing and gab were the attractions of the sport. This was back when it was iron men with sledge hammer hands beating each other molten. This is a true teaser that isn't selling the action of the film, but the soul.
