I just got in from my early-morning training session at the gym, but no matter how sore I am, I know I am a big fat bag of marshmallow compared to the bad-ass muthas that star in both of these movies. Check out this first one:

Usually I am writing you about the latest kung fu/horror/all around oddness coming out of Asian. But now I have news on a French flick that shows how inspired Luc Besson is by the ONG BAK style of fighting. The film is called BANLIEUE 13 and comes out in France on November 10th. Luc Besson co-wrote it and it marks the directorial debut of Pierre Morel, who worked as a the director of photography on the Besson produced actioners THE TRANSPORTER and DANNY THE DOG (aka UNLEASHED).
But the main talking point of this film is martial artist/acrobat Cyril Raffaelli. You may remember him as the smaller of the blonde twins who took on Jet Li in KISS OF THE DRAGON. Well, here he is the lead and looks phenomenal. I am talking in the same mold as Tony Jaa. Thank God that Luc Besson is keeping it real in terms of martial artists. In this film, Raffaelli plays an agent named Damien who must infiltrate a dangerous section of futuristic Paris to find a stolen nuclear device. Keep your eye on this guy (he is the bald one in the trailer) because he is going places.
