X-Men Movie Casting News - Fan Pic Added

The above was sent in after this story was posted, and I thought it pretty cool looking, and gave a sense of what he could look like in the role. I'm sure I'll be hearing about it in TALK BACK, but heck I think it's cool...Oh yeah, I just heard that Mr Singer has set a start date in March with the film due to come out Christmas, 1999. Personally this seems awfully fast to me, given what is surely a heavy duty effects film...

Hey folks, Harry here with something so cool I couldn't wait till tomorrow to tell you about it. This isn't confirmed, but merely out of the latest PREMIERE magazine. I'm gonna try to get confirmation here in a little bit, to see what I can find out. Russell Crowe would be completely badass as Wolverine in my book, although I know a lot of fans that want Harvey Keitel. Personally I think he's a bit long in the tooth, but hey, Wolverine wasn't a spring chicken himself. Personally I've been rootin for Jeffery Falcon of 6-String Samurai for Wolverine, but hey... perhaps he'll be Cyclops, someone he's even more perfect for.... More to come... hopefully...

You may already know this, but I almost shit myself when I read it! I was at the mall today browsing through Saturday Matinee's diminishing laserdisc selections, when the new Premiere magazine caught my eye. It has a lovely Drew Barrymore cover and is mostly about the fall movie preview. Well, flipping through, there is a large article on the troubles getting the Spiderman movie made and James Cameron. On the second page of the article, there's a sidebar about upcoming comic book movies and of course, X-Men is mentioned. Of course the Patrick Stewart and Angela Bassett casting was mentioned, but here's the real kicker! According to the article, the producers are talking to Russell Crowe (Virtousity, L.A. Confidential) to play Wolverine!!! How cool would that be?! I'm going to go watch my L.A. Confidential Laserdisc to observe Russell's Berserker Rage!
