Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with everyone's first look at the new and improved Carl Denham and Ann Darrow. Thaaaattt's right, dude. Peter Jackson has recorded another tidbit from the set of KING KONG for the official unofficial fan site run by those lovely ONE RING.NET folks KongIsKing.net.
This site was launched a week or so ago with a little intro from Jackson standing in front of the Venture, that awesome ship that carts Kong away from his home and into New York proper, on the first day of filming. Now Jackson, who is freaking me out, by the way, since he dropped some pounds and lost the glasses, which has let the Derek in him rise to the surface, has popped up again with Jack Black and Naomi Watts in tow. I personally love the idea of little minute long snippets from the set that really don't show you anything, but you still feel like you've seen something, if you know what I mean. You get the best of both worlds. The visuals aren't totally ruined, but you get a tiny taste. Check out the newest!

I'd also like to take this opportunity to announce my travels. I'm leaving the safety of Austin tomorrow morning and headed out on a grand adventure to New Zealand myself. Technically, this is more of a vacation, but I do have some really interesting stuff in the works. I will be updating regularly while out there, depending on how quickly I can get an internet connection set up. If there are any NZ natives out there that would have any advice on doing that (I'll be renting a house for one month in Wellington), particularly on getting wi-fi or broadband set up, please drop me an email. I'll be staying primarily in Wellington (one of my favorite places in the world), but I'm in the final stages of locking down a visit up to Auckland and into the lands of Narnia. There may also be a short detour into Outer Space when I hit LA on Wednesday, but more that later. What about Kong? Well, I suppose anything is possible.
