TORONTO Film Fest! How Much Is Too Much' HOLE IN THE HEART Will Answer The Question!!

Hi, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab...

I was just having a conversation with a producer the other day about what it is that draws film fans to trangressive movies. Why do we look at things that we feel like we won’t be able to watch? What is it about that horrific feeling of seeing something you’re not supposed to see that keeps us coming back for more? At film festivals, word spreads quickly about things that are supposed to be too much to take, and we just got this note that I consider a call to arms for anyone who is covering Toronto right now. If you have a chance… SEE THIS FILM… and then write to us and tell us what you think. It may be the one chance you ever get...

hi harry,

hot off the press.

The Toronto festival has only just started but there's already one film that's sent hardened industry vets fleeing for the doors in a mad panic. Only one film has had distributors questioning how far is this film going to go? They all felt a little bit of it last year when IRREVERSIBLE's head pummeling unfolded, BUT and it's a big BUT; the claustrophobia and anxiety felt by this years bad boy, totally eclipses Gasper Noe's love-it-or-hate-it-you-still-can't-deny it, feel-bad flick of the year.

From the director LILYA 4 EVER comes HOLE IN THE HEART.

This ain't going to play in Peoria.

It may not play anywhere again.

Ever.

cheers

Trust me... this guy knows whereof he speaks. He’s a festival programmer himself, and he’s probably seen the craziest, freakiest films ever produced. When an e-mail from him says “Beyond IRREVERSIBLE. Beyond SALO. Beyond Them All…” then I figure it’s got to be something worth paying some attention to. So you heard me, Toronto film geeks... you’ve got a mission. Find this film and bring back the word for us. I’m curious as hell now, especially from a filmmaker this talented.

"Moriarty" out.
