As we must always do, I am keeping my eyes peeled on the wascally Coen Brothers. They are too cool not to, so here's one of them "I heard" scoops...
Earlier this summer I got to work as an extra on the set of Tom Shadyac's "Patch Adams", starring Robin Williams. During one of the breaks I talked to cool character actor (Fargo's) Harve Presnell. He told me about working with John Woo, flying planes with Travolta, and his neighbor Dennis Quaid. Coolest of all, he told me about the Coen Brothers' next flick! It's called Career in C-Major, and it's based on a book of a down-and-out opera singer in the 1930's (Presnell) who's stuck singing in a Mexico city opera house. The singer marries a prostitute, and his career becomes revitalized. They return to New York and he must do a Pygmalion-like transformation to his wife so she fits in with the New York Opera society. Throw in a few of the Coen regulars, retro Hudsucker-style art direction, and it sings COOL!
