Hey folks, Harry here... Well - ya know... I hate being right about Paul W. S. Anderson movies. I do. I wanted to love each of his films. And specifically the thing that drives me crazy about the guy is that his trailers, soundbytes, clips ALWAYS look great. He's a master of putting together tiny glimpses of cool, as well as being a master of fucking it all up. BUT - I keep pulling for the guy to make a chump out of me. The below clip is pretty fucking cool. I really really dig it. BUT - the PG-13 sends a portent of suck in our general direction... when you put two R-rated series together in a watered down form... Of course... if most of the violence is aimed at Aliens and Predators, as opposed to human... it could still be badass at that rating. But then... the few tidbits I'm hearing from folks that have seen it claim it is his worst film. That kinda boggles the mind. I mean - if it is a terrible steaming pile, i guess we can take solice in that it has at least provided cool new toys for us to have, the plush Alien and Predator will make great gifts for my nephew! You probably have seen this (haven't seen any reference on the site though). I came across a short clip from AVP-a melee fight between a predator and an alien. With all the bad press this movie's been getting, and the news of the PG13 rating, I'm as skeptical as everyone else. The Alien fan in me wants this to be good, but I wait cautiously. This action sequence looks very well done-no CGI from what I could tell, and the 2 seem to be knocking the shit out of each other. Maybe it will be bearable.
