Will Sony Ruin VAMPIRES with Techno-Industrial-Non-Music'

As y'all know, I've seen VAMPIRES, went through quite a bit of expense to do so too. I loved this film. I've been advocating for this film for months, ever since I heard it was having distribution problems, I've been scared that it may not reach a theater near you. Now the film I saw was absolutely wonderful, a film that all you hard core geeks would just leave the theater and be back the next night with a larger group of friends. It's that type of movie. One of the key aspects of this film, one of the wonderful elements that makes this film kick so much ass, is John Carpenter's score. His score is just friggin amazing. You would hum it, recall sequences where the music made you go "Kick Fucking Ass Man!!!!" And you would haunt your local soundtrack haunt everyday until it arrived. That's why I was very concerned when in my weekly dose of ZENtertainment I read the following nugget of news...

"Vampires: The last few bands have signed. Blood Hound Gang, Fiona Apple (with Erica Chase), Eva Trout, and The Smashing Pumpkins again (SP allegedly agreed to do a song for this, the ISK and the "Cupid" soundtracks for a $1 million fee)"

Ok, now I figured at the moment I read the above that this meant there would most likely be a two CD bit, one being John Carpenter's Amazing Score, and then the techno-industrial-dying-sheep-sounding "Music Inspired By".

Then I saw the dag dang trailer. While the trailer is cool, it suddenly and violently transform into ear piercing brain hemorraging BUHWANG BUHWANG EEEEERRR WONGA WANKA URRREEEEE sounding music destroying all the aesthetics of the trailer. Then it hit me...

It is possible that someone at Sony may be tampering with the sound of the film. Making it a 'more marketable film' with nasty as hell music in place of a brilliant score. Now I have to say, I don't have any information saying that they are doing this, but I would instantly begin cursing in my seat if suddenly there was a single note of Carpenter's score taken away. Imagine putting industrial-techno-hip-hop style music to what is basically a gothic western. Carpenter's score is perfect. Please, if you have any power on this project at all, do not place the "Music Inspired By" in the film. If not then the people of France and those that traveled there to see it are the luckiest on earth, because funky music in place of the great score could ruin the entire feel.

If you know one way or the other, let me know.
